Root3 - Mobile Device Management

Mobile Device Management

A single, centralized approach to management, security, and configuration.

Centralized management is the foundation of security

Employees are increasingly working in different locations and using different devices. As a result, it’s becoming more important to centrally determine how devices are configured, secured, and managed.

Without MDM, discrepancies between devices can quickly arise. Security settings aren’t consistent across the board, updates go uninstalled, and in the event of loss or theft, it’s harder to take swift action.

Mobile Device Management brings all of this together. You centrally determine which settings, policies, and applications apply to devices and can implement them automatically. This allows you to maintain control over your Apple fleet without having to manage each device individually.

One policy for all devices

Mobile Device Management (MDM), the central management of devices, is a key component of a secure IT environment. From a single central location, you can define policies and settings, enforce them automatically, and see which devices comply with the agreed-upon policies.

Root3 helps you select, set up, and manage MDM solutions such as Jamf, Microsoft Intune, and IRU. We integrate these with Apple Business or Apple School Manager and configure the environment based on your organization and security policies.

You can then manage the MDM environment yourself with your own IT team. Would you prefer to have specialized knowledge and capacity on hand? In that case, we’ll combine MDM with Managed Services or Maintenance.

The Benefits of Mobile Device Management

From security policies and configuration to the automated deployment of new devices.
Central Administration
Automatically apply security settings to the correct devices.
Encryption Security
Protect data directly on the device. Among other measures, we centrally enforce FileVault and key security settings to ensure that every device complies with the policy.
Remote Lock & Wipe
If a device is lost or stolen, you can remotely lock or erase it. The options available depend on the device, its configuration, and the platform being used.
Zero-Touch Deployment
New devices are automatically linked to the MDM platform. This ensures that settings, policies, and applications are immediately available when the device is first put into use.
Shared Devices
When multiple people use the same device, each with their own personal user environments.
Bring Your Own Device
With Bring Your Own Device, you can separate work and personal use. With User Enrollment, you respect the user's privacy and manage only the business portion of the device.

Want to manage all your devices securely and centrally?

From the initial MDM setup to day-to-day management and ongoing development. We’ll help you set up an Apple environment that aligns with your organization and security policies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Should Root3 manage my MDM environment? No. You can purchase the MDM solution through Root3 and manage it entirely on your own. Would you prefer to have access to specialized expertise or additional capacity? In that case, we can take over all or part of the management through Managed Services or Maintenance.
Which MDM solutions do you support? We work with Jamf, Microsoft Intune, and IRU, among others. Which solution is the best fit depends on your organization, existing IT environment, desired functionality, and management needs.
Can you take over an existing MDM environment? Yes. We can assess, improve, or migrate an existing MDM environment to another solution. In doing so, we also review Apple Business, policies, applications, identity, and existing management processes.
Can MDM see what employees are doing on their devices? MDM is designed to manage and secure devices, not to track employees. The information an administrator can view varies by platform and configuration. We take personal data and privacy into account during setup.
Is MDM only compatible with Macs? No. MDM is also used for iPhones and iPads. In addition, there are specific features for shared devices, education, and healthcare.
Does MDM affect device performance? MDM utilizes the management capabilities built into operating systems and management frameworks. It is not a resource-intensive application that runs continuously in the background.
